Paul Phillips

Paul, who is 50 and of British nationality, studied law in the UK and became a solicitor, then left for France where he was employed by Renault as legal adviser in their International Department. After five years of experience in international contracts, Paul joined the law firm Herbert Smith as solicitor to the Paris Bar. In this role, he dealt with all aspects of commercial and labour law, specialising in foreign investments in France.
He was then offered the possibility of a career change and in 1996 became company secretary of a British insurance company setting up in France.
He also worked briefly for an Internet start-up from 2001 to 2002.
Paul and Philippe met in 2001 and in 2002 decided to combine their different expertise and set up a consultancy firm called Strawberry Tree Developments, now ST Developments.

Philippe Lefebvre

Philippe first trained as an advertising signs designer and then worked as a salesman in "B to B", becoming Sales Manager in computer hard and software and then managing two profit centres in an industrial cleaning company with a staff of 200.  He was then offered the position of manager of a distribution network dealing in industrial products, after which he became manager of the growth and development division of a furniture firm, which he left to set up in business with Paul, who owes him due respect as he is six months younger !

Our activity also encompasses the following :
 
- Drafting and following up of prospect files
- Defining the search procedures for the selection of future members
- Devising the presentation of the concept for telephone interviews and/or meetings.
- Follow-up of advertising campaigns carried out by the company developing the Client's concept
- Exploitation of the candidate data base generated by the Observatoire de la Franchise or other communication media
- Reception and handling of the applications of interested prospects
- Sending off application forms
- Processing application forms on return
- Sending appropriate information and documentation
- Managing the prospect files
- Recruiting candidates
- Carrying out interviews, selecting and presenting the candidates to the client (who takes the ultimate
decisions) in accordance with the following procedures :
 
* After reception and analysis of the application form, telephoning candidates who best comply with the requirements laid down by the Client (an affinity with the brand, professional experience, geographic location, financial input)
* Presentation of the concept to the interested candidates
* Follow-up of the candidates during their reflexion period
* Presence during the signing of the Precontractual Information Agreement and the Trading Area Reservation Agreement
* Organisation of the signing of the Franchise Agreement by the Client.

Locating Commercial Premises

We travel thousands of kilometers per year to help our clients with the difficult task of locating good commercial sites. This is an area where speedy reaction is of prime importance. Good locations are never on the market for long. 
Our links with numerous commercial property agents throughout France enable us to be rapidly informed of any interesting property offers on the market, which we then propose to the Client and the future candidate.
We can also be of assistance in negotiating property deals in accordance with the selection criteria defined by the Client, and if necessary draw up lease agreements.
